The Pound Euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate is pushing higher on Monday, paring mild losses from the previous week. The pair trades +0.1% at €1.1005.
The Euro is under increasing pressure as coronavirus cases continue to rise across the old continent, with France and Germany recording a record rise in cases whilst Spain announced a national curfew.
Britain’s covid cases are also shooting higher raising fears that the fragile economic recovery will be derailed.
Brexit also remains a thorn in the Pound’s side. Even as Brexit talks restarted last week, progress seems to be slow at best.
