GBP/USD: No Change Expected from BoE

The pound euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate is rising for a third straight day.

The pound is rising after the BoE cut rates by 25 basis points to 4.25%. This marked the 4th rate cut this cycle. However the vote was more hawkish than expected at 7-2 compared to 9-0 expected.

The UK and the US announced a framework for a trade deal. The agreement covers industrials, chemicals, aviation, and agriculture.

The euro is falling amid a lack of fresh catalysts. Recent data has been mixed, with German industrial output rising by more than expected. However, Eurozone retail sales fell more than expected.
