GBP/USD: Pound Dips As UK Polititcs & G20 Take Centre Stage

The pound euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate is unchanged on Wednesday at 1.15

The pound is steady against the euro but weaker versus the US dollar as markets assess Middle East tensions and prospects for peace.

The International Monetary Fund cut UK growth forecasts, citing vulnerability to higher oil prices, with GDP seen at 0.8% this year and 1.2% next.

UK February GDP is expected to edge up 0.1%.

The euro is flat against the pound but softer versus the dollar despite stronger eurozone industrial output, as investors focus on war risks and energy costs. Germany’s GDP outlook was downgraded to 0.8% from 1.2% previously.
