The pound euro exchange rate is holding steady at €1.1480 after gains in the previous session. The pair is set to end the week flat.

The euro fell in the previous session after the ECB left rates unchanged at 4%, after 10 consecutive hikes.

ECB President Christine Lagarde spoke of concerns over the growth outlook but said it was too early to talk about rate cuts.

The pound has struggled to gain traction this week after disappointing PMI data  and retail sales figures last week.

The BoE rate decision is next week and the central bank is expected to leave rates on hold.
