The US Dollar Pakistan Rupee (USD/PKR) exchange rate rebounds after last week’s losses. The pair hovers above 168.50 and close to its all-time high.

The Rupee is under pressure as foreign investment inflows into areas of the economy such as oil and gas exploration, power plants, telecommunication and IT plummeted 35% month on month in July to an 11-month low.

The US Dollar is out of favour versus its major peers as the virtual Jackson Hole Symposium steps into the spotlight. A key speech is expected from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Thursday. Investors will listen closely as they try to ascertain the central banks’ next steps.
