eBay business: eBay store subscription fees
If you sell regularly on eBay you might choose to open an eBay store. You'll pay a fee to eBay – usually either monthly or annually – and receive different benefits according to the subscription you've selected. You can choose from Starter, Basic, Premium, Anchor or Enterprise packages, described in the table below.
Each store level has a different number of free listings, and different costs for excess listings. All stores get a certain number of zero insertion fee auction listings according to their subscription category. For Basic store packages and above, you'll also get an allocation of free fixed price listings. Your allocation depends on the store package and listing category.

eBay business final value fees
Once your item sells, you’ll need to pay a final value fee which is calculated as a percentage of the value of the sale. The percentage used varies according to the store type, and product category in question.
It’s also good to know that eBay is rolling out a new payment platform called eBay managed payments. This new system means the customer doesn’t need to leave the eBay site to pay. If you enroll in managed payments you’ll pay slightly different fees which will usually make it a little cheaper than using eBay and PayPal together.
Here’s a run through the final value fees you’ll have to pay for some of eBay’s key categories – or make it even easier using our eBay final value fee calculator.

eBay business account vs personal
Depending on how often you sell on eBay, you might be considering using an eBay business account. Personal accounts are good for casual selling, but if you want to expand your side hustle, you might be better off with a business account. Here are some pros and cons for each:
eBay personal account:
- Personal accounts are great for occasional use, or for starting out with eBay
- Simple to set up and use
- Switch to a business account at any time if you choose to
eBay business account:
- Business sellers may get discounts on eBay fees, as well as tax benefits
- You can register your account in a company name
- Having a business account may make your tax filing more complex
- Business account holders can list more items and access better seller tools
eBay private seller fees
You don’t have to be planning on building a business to use eBay. If you’re clearing out the closet or have some unwanted items hanging around at home, using eBay as a private seller can be a good option. Just open an eBay account online to set up your eBay private listing.
As a private seller you can list up to 50 items a month for free. You’ll just pay a 10% final value fee when your item sells.
