The pair fell 0.18% in the previous session, settling on Tuesday at 88.12. At 17:30 UTC, USD\/INR trades -0.13% at 88.01 and trades in a range of 87.98 to 88.16.<\/p>\n<p>The Rupee is rising, tracking domestic equities higher amid gains in auto stocks on signs of demand recovery, and fueled by optimism over progress in trade negotiations with the US.<\/p>\n<p>The Nifty 50 rose 0.68%, its highest close since July 10th, whilst the Sensex rose 0.7%, marking its highest close since July 23.<\/p>\n<p>Optimism surrounding trade discussions between Indian and U.S. officials on Tuesday is rising. A US delegation led by the US assistant trade representative for South and Central Asia met Indian trade officials in New Delhi. Talks covered bilateral trade ties, including a possible US-India trade deal.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Trump imposed a 25% punitive tariff on Indian imports from August 27, doubling overall tariffs to 50%.<\/p>\n<p>The US Dollar is falling across the board. The US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, is falling 0.64% at 96.67, extending losses from yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. dollar is falling sharply despite stronger-than-expected US retail sales, which are not expected to impact the Federal Reserve\u2019s decision tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. retail sales were stronger than expected, rising 0.6% month on month in August, which was ahead of the 0.2% forecast, showing a strong summer of spending by consumers.
