Sales in July rose 0.6% MoM, well ahead of the 0.2% forecast.<\/p>\n<p>However, sales over the first half of the year were revised lower owing to errors at the ONS, suggesting caution among shoppers.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, a survey watched closely by the BoE showed that businesses have cut jobs at the fastest pace in almost four years.<\/p>\n<p>The EUR is rising higher ahead of Eurozone Q2 GDP data, which is expected to confirm the preliminary reading of 0.1% QoQ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The pound-euro (GBP\/EUR) exchange rate is falling and is set to decline across the week.
