The pair rose 0.3% in the previous session, settling on Wednesday at \u20ac1.1600. It traded between \u20ac1.1553 and \u20ac1.1606. At 10:00, GBP\/EUR trades +0.16% at \u20ac1.1618.<\/p>\n<p>The pound is rising after data showed that the UK economy grew at a faster pace than expected in the second quarter. Data from the Office for National Statistics showed the economy grew by 0.3% quarter on quarter, down from 0.7% in the previous quarter, but still ahead of expectations of a 0.1% expansion.<\/p>\n<p>While economic activity was weak in April and May, growth rebounded strongly in June, rising 0.4% month on month, shaking off the impact of US tariffs and business uncertainties.<\/p>\n<p>The data comes after UK labour market data earlier in the week shows resilience and adds support to a slower pace of interest rate cuts by the Bank of England.<\/p>\n<p>Investors have lowered Bank of England rate cut expectations, with the implied probability of a November cut dropping from 42% on Wednesday to below 40% after the data release this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The euro is falling after data showed that the eurozone economy grew at a marginal pace in the April to June quarter in line with initial estimates, and its companies generated jobs modestly.<\/p>\n<p>Data from Eurostat showed the industrial production remained weak in the second quarter of the year as the positive impact from front-loading orders due to US tariffs faded.<\/p>\n<p>Eurozone GDP grew 0.1% after rising 0.6% in Q1.
