The pair fell -0.43% in the previous session, settling on Wednesday at 86.88. At 16:00 UTC USD\/INR trades 0.2% higher at 87.05 and is in a range of 86.84 to 87.21.<\/p>\n<p>The Rupee is under pressure after three days of gains. The market turned bearish on Asian currencies as trade war worries lingered. The market was bearish on the Malaysian ringgit, the South Korean won, and the Taiwan dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, state declines in oil prices have offered some support to the rupiah so far this week. Well has fallen 5.5% this week, marking the seventh straight week of declines. The market is fretting over reports that OPEC plus will increase oil output as of April. At the same time, the oil demand outlook is deteriorating owing to concerns regarding the trade war.<\/p>\n<p>India imports 80% of its trade needs so lower oil prices are beneficial for the economy.<\/p>\n<p>The US Dollar is rising against the Rupee but falling against its major peers. The US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, is falling 0.3% on Thursday, extending losses to a five-month low.<\/p>\n<p>The USD is falling sharply amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding U.S. trade tariffs. The latest reports suggest that President Trump plans to backtrack on part of his trade war against Canada and Mexico after seeing stocks on Wall Street plunged this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>US commerce secretary Howard Lutnick reportedly said that services that were compliant with the trade pact between the US, Mexico, and Canada, the USMCA, could receive a one-month exclusion from tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>The USMC is a trade deal between Mexico and Canada that covered $1.8 trillion worth of goods in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Attention will now turn to US jobs data tomorrow. The non-farm payroll is expected to show 160k jobs added in February, up from 143k in January.
