The pair rose 0.47% in the previous session, settling on Wednesday at 86.57. At the time of writing, USD\/INR trades -0.40% at 86.57 and is in a range of 86.03 to 86.58.<\/p>\n<p>The Rupee settled higher against a weaker USD as concerns surrounding aggressive trade tariffs and persistent US inflation eased.<\/p>\n<p>The offshore yuan rose to a two-month high against the USD after a friendly call between Chinese Premier Xi Jinping and Trump on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Falling oil prices also support the Rupee. Oil prices dropped over 1.5% on Monday after President Trump pledged to increase energy output and bring down oil prices in the US. India imports over 80% of its oil needs, so cheap oil prices are beneficial to the Indian economy.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, domestic equities in India have experienced persistent foreign portfolio outflows, which have dragged on the Rupee recently.<\/p>\n<p>The US Dollar is falling across the board. The US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, trades at -1.17%, priced at 108.03 on Monday after falling modestly last week.<\/p>\n<p>The USD is falling after President Trump\u2019s inauguration speech, where he stopped short of imposing trade tariffs immediately. The USD fell sharply against its major trading partners, such as the Canadian dollar, the Mexican peso, the euro, and the Chinese yuan.<\/p>\n<p>Conflicting reports in recent weeks have questioned how aggressively Trump could implement trade tariffs.
