The pair rose 1.86% in the previous week, settling on Friday at 152.30. At 21:00, USD\/JPY trades 0.7% at 153.52 and is in a range of 152.41 to 153.88.<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese yen has weakened further, dropping to a three-month low against the dollar on Monday after Japan&#8217;s ruling coalition lost an election, which has created political uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>Political uncertainty has added two questions regarding the management policy outlook. With the Bank of Japan less likely to raise interest rates, this has created an unsettled political backdrop.<\/p>\n<p>A period of wrangling to secure a coalition is likely after Japan&#8217;s Liberal Democratic Party failed to win sufficient seats to form a majority.<\/p>\n<p>Sit down to cross the week. The Bank of Japan&#8217;s interest rate decision is due on Thursday, and the central bank is not expected to raise interest rates from the current 0.25% level.<\/p>\n<p>The US Dollar is rising across the board on Mondy. The US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, rose to 104.30 at the time of writing, up 0.05%, adding to gains from last week.<\/p>\n<p>The US dollar is Rising, heading into its fifth straight weekly gain, as the so-called Trump trade picks up steam ahead of the US election and as investors look to a busy week for U.S. economic data.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. dollar has been boosted across recent weeks on expectations that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates at a slower pace amid strong U.S. economic data. The US dollar is also being lifted by rising bets that former president Donald Trump will win the US election. Trump&#8217;s core policies are considered to be inflationary.<\/p>\n<p>This week is a big week for U.S. economic data.
