{"id":118392,"date":"2024-10-07T12:30:18","date_gmt":"2024-10-07T11:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/?p=118392"},"modified":"2024-10-07T12:25:25","modified_gmt":"2024-10-07T11:25:25","slug":"109290-gbp-eur-pair-falls-towards-e1-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/109290-gbp-eur-pair-falls-towards-e1-19\/","title":{"rendered":"GBP\/EUR: Pair falls towards \u20ac1.19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The pound euro (<a href=\"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/exchange-rate\/1000-gbp-to-eur-exchange-rate-today\/\">GBP\/EUR<\/a>) exchange rate is falling, extending losses from last week.<\/p>\n<p>The pound is falling after REC &amp; KPMG data showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/109289-gbp-eur-pound-falls-further-as-wage-growth-slows-to-a-4-year-low\/\">wage growth for newly hired permanent roles slowed to its lowest level since February 2021.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As BoE Governor Andrew Bailey mentioned last week, slowing wage growth could support a more aggressive approach to cutting rates.<\/p>\n<p>The euro is rising after eurozone retail sales remained resilient, rising 0.2% MoM in August, as inflation cooled and interest rates fell.<\/p>\n<p>However, German factory orders tumbled -5.8% MoM in August, dropping at its sharpest pace in 7 months.
