The pound euro exchange rate (GBP\/EUR<\/a>) is rising after losses yesterday.<\/p>\n

The pound is rising after UK manufacturing returned to growth in March, rising above 50 for the first time since July 2022.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the BRC noted that shop inflation rose at its slowest pace since 2021, thanks to falling food costs.<\/p>\n

The euro is falling after eurozone manufacturing PMI fell to 46.1 in March from 46.5 in February, contracting for a 21st straight month.<\/p>\n

German inflation data is due shortly and is expected to cool to 2.2% YoY in March down from 2.5%.<\/p>\n

Cooling inflation would support the ECB cutting rates sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
