The pound euro (GBP\/EUR) exchange rate is falling for a second day.<\/a><\/p>\n

The pound is falling further after yesterday’s weaker-than-expected UK inflation data, which has seen the market bring forward rate cut bets.<\/p>\n

UK government net borrowing rose by more than expected, which could limit the government’s election giveaways.<\/p>\n

The euro is rising after French business confidence rose to 100, up from 99 and better than the 98 forecast.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, German consumer confidence was also better than expected.<\/p>\n
