The pound euro (GBP\/EUR) exchange rate is rising after losses last week.<\/p>\n

The pound fell last week after data raised concerns over a recession in the UK and as investors reined in hawkish BoE bets.<\/p>\n

Today there is no high impacting UK economic data and this week is also light as far as data is concerned.<\/p>\n

The euro rose last week after hawkish comments from ECB President Christine Lagarde<\/a> who said that rates will need to stay high for as long as necessary to tame inflation.<\/p>\n
