{"id":113682,"date":"2023-01-20T07:30:50","date_gmt":"2023-01-20T07:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/?p=113682"},"modified":"2023-01-20T06:06:08","modified_gmt":"2023-01-20T06:06:08","slug":"107391-113682-2-pair-slips-to-11425","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/107391-113682-2-pair-slips-to-11425\/","title":{"rendered":"GBP\/EUR: Pair slips to \u20ac1.1425"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The pound euro (GBP\/EUR) exchange rate is edging lower towards \u20ac1.1425 after three days of gains.<\/p>\n<p>The pound was supported yesterday by BoE&#8217;s Andrew Bailey suggesting that a UK recession could be shallower than initially expected and that inflation could fall rapidly from the Spring.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/107390-gbp-eur-will-uk-retail-sales-boost-the-pound\/\">UK retail sales data<\/a> is due and is expected to show sales rebounded in December, rising +0.5% MoM after falling -0.4% in November.<\/p>\n<p>The euro was lifted yesterday by ECB President Christine Lagarde who said that inflation was too high and rates needed to rise further.<\/p>\n<p>Today attention is on German wholesale inflation which analyst forecast will cool to 20.8% YoY, down from 28%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The pound euro (GBP\/EUR) exchange rate is edging lower towards \u20ac1.1425 after three days of gains.
