The pound euro (GBP\/EUR) exchange rate is holding steady<\/a> after two straight days of losses.<\/p>\n

The pound has been falling in a quiet week as far as economic data is concerned and as the outlook for the UK economy remains bleak.<\/p>\n

NeisenIQ warned that rising inflation and the squeeze on households could slow food sales growth.<\/p>\n

The euro was supported in the previous session after hawkish comments from ECB official Isabel Schnabel.<\/p>\n
