The pound euro (GBP\/EUR<\/a>) exchange rate is heading higher on Tuesday after losses in the previous session.<\/p>\n

The euro rose yesterday amid optimism as the ECB’s summit kicked off. The ECB are expected to hike interest rates in July.<\/p>\n

Today German consumer confidence data is due and is expected to decline to -27.7 from -26 as inflation sits at a record high.<\/p>\n

The pound came under pressure amid rising Brexit concerns, as the UK considers ending the northern Ireland protocol.<\/p>\n
