The Pound Euro (GBP\/EUR<\/a>) exchange rate is holding steady after a strong start to the week.<\/p>\n

The Pound is supported by the easing of lockdown restrictions ahead of the Prime Minister\u2019s next announcement on May 17th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

However, DUP party elections in Northern Ireland will keep Brexit issues front and central.<\/p>\n

UK manufacturing PMI data<\/a> is expected to print at 60.7 confirming the preliminary April reading.<\/p>\n

The Euro slipped on Monday despite stellar retail sales from Germany. Sales surged by the most on a yearly basis since the start of the pandemic as lockdown restrictions were eased in March. Retail sales jumped 11% year on year.<\/p>\n
