The pair trades -0.3% at 1.7646.<\/p>\n<p>Fears of <a href=\"https:\/\/currencylive.com\/news\/104375-gbp-aud-pound-sells-off-as-uk-faces-tighter-covid-restrictions\/\">tighter lockdown restrictions across the UK,<\/a> and particularly in London are dragging on demand for the Pound. The UK\u2019s top medical advisor is due to give a televised speech where he will warn that the UK\u2019s infection rate is heading in the wrong direction.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Dollar has shown resilience amid solid demand for the country\u2019s exports such as iron ore and gold.
