Both the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Chief negotiator Michel Barnier made encouraging remarks, seeing a trade deal as still possible.<\/p>\n<p>Rising covid cases in the UK and fears of a second national lockdown could keep gains in the Pound in check.<\/p>\n<p>The Euro trades lower amid concerns that the economic recovery in the bloc is slowing, as evidenced by recent data and covid cases are rising. There are no numbers to be released today.
