GBP/EUR: Pair rises towards €1.20

GBP/EUR: Will ECB Draghi Pull Euro Lower vs Pound?

The pound euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate is rising for a third straight day.

The pound is rising after UK unemployment unexpectedly fell to 4% from 4.1% and as wage growth eased to 4.9% from 5.1%.

Cooling wage growth points to easing price pressures, which will be well received by the BoE ahead of the next rate decision.

The euro is falling after German wholesale prices fell –0.3 % MoM, extending losses from August.

German ZEW economic sentiment improved to 13.1, up from 3.6 in September and ahead of the 10 forecast. The mood is improving as inflation has stabilised and interest rates fall.
