GBP/EUR: Pair ends the week at €1.2050

GBP/USD: Will US GDP Data Boost the Dollar vs. Pound?

The pound-euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate rose 0.17% during the week, settling on Friday at  €1.2050.

The pound rose across the week despite reports pointing to a weaker outlook for the UK economy following the Labour Budget.

The CBI and Reed Recruitment, a big player in the industry, warned about the outlook for the economy and hiring after the Budget measures, which will hit businesses.

The euro fell last week after the French government collapsed after PM Michel Barnier lost a vote of no confidence after pushing through a Budget without Parliamentary approval.
