GBP/EUR: Pair rises from €1.19

The pound euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate is rising after losses yesterday.

The pound is rising despite mixed data. BRC  data showed that UK consumer spending slowed in October to 0.6% YoY from 2% in September.

Service sector activity slowed in October, but not by as much as initially expected. The services PMI eased to 52 from 52.4 in September. The preliminary reading was 51.8.

The euro is falling amid a quiet economic calendar. Attention is on ECB President Christine Lagarde, who will speak later and could offer some insight into the outlook for interest rates and growth in the region.
