HSBC released last week the 9th Edition of the Expat Explorer Report, ranking the best 45 countries for expats. This study is based on YouGov survey of nearly 27 000 expats from 190 countries.
Regardless of where they decided to move, expats are not only looking for higher wages or career success but their objectives were also to improve their quality of life, learn new skills or seek a new challenge.
Expats were questioned about how easy it was to work, live and raise their kids in the country they are living. Then the results were combined into 3 main topics: Economics, Experience, and Family. Each country received a score out of 1 for each topic.
Switzerland ranks at the best place in the Economics category. New-Zealand is number one in the Experience category and Sweden in the Family one.
