I recently came across a new collaborative platform, airXpat, dedicated to future expats and I am sure it can help some of you. Let me tell you a bit more about it.

What does it do?

airXpat’s mission is to help newcomers getting settled into their new country thanks to the local community. It was launched in September 2016, focusing on 2 countries at the start, France and Morocco.

Who is it for?

Anyone arriving in a new country! Students, retirees, corporate expatriates or entrepreneurs who need some help with their installation. Let’s take the French administration, for example. Dealing with it can be a nightmare if you’re not prepared and you might require the help of a local.

On the other hand, as a local or an expat settled in Paris for a long time, you might be willing to help newcomers and make some additional income. You just have to register and post an ad offering your service.

How does it work?

airXpat connects together newly arriving expats with locals, the ‘Xperts’, who will offer them tailor-made services to help them getting settled.

What kind of services does it offer?

Relocating implies a lot of paperwork and research: find a place to live, a school for your kids, visa applications and much more. Many of these aspects are covered on airXpat. You can also find locals offering you city tours, which is probably the best way to discover a new city.

What is next?

The ambition of airXpat is to reach rapidly a global coverage thanks to a network of selected and trustworthy locals, able to individually support people working and living abroad.
